You get about 30% less air density up here so you get about 30% less horsepower unless you are turbo charged.
Cooling can be an issue also for the same reason. You see a fair number of overheated vehicles on I-70 going up the mountain passes when it�s hot.
Plan on drinking a lot of water to keep from getting dehydrated, which can accelerate altitude sickness.
Booze Brothers beware: You will get oiled about twice as fast (I.E. half as many drinks) and the hangovers can be major (due to the dehydration).
